NavBar Style

The NavBar Style dialog box enables you to modify style of the Navigation Bar of the selected style in the Styles layout or the selected NavBar in a page.

The Type of NavBar section enables you to choose between two options - Text Only and Image with label. If the Text Only navigation bar type is selected then links are displayed as highlighted texts. It is useful if browser to view this page is textual. If the Image with label type is chosen, the links are displayed as image buttons.

The NavBar Orientation section enables you to select orientation of your Navigation bar. It can be Horizontal or Vertical. The Horizontal orientation is used when you want your navigation bar at the top or bottom of your page, usually in header or footer. The Vertical orientation is used mostly for left-aligned navigation bars.

The Alignment of NavBar section enables you to set alignment of your Navigation Bar on the page. The possible options are:

When the Image with label navigation bar selected:
Vertical Alignment:

Baseline, when the bottom of the Navigation Bar is aligned with the base of your text line
Middle, when the middle of the Navigation Bar is aligned with the middle of the line
Top, when the top of the Navigation Bar is aligned with the highest object in the line
Bottom, when the bottom of the Navigation Bar is aligned with the lowest position in the line

Horizontal Alignment:

Left, when the Navigation Bar is aligned to the left of the page
Center, when the Navigation Bar is centered
Right, when the Navigation Bar is aligned to the right of the page

If you choose Image with label Navigation Bar, all the alignments except Center are available. If you choose Horizontal and Text only Navigation Bar, no alignment is available. If you choose Vertical and Text only Navigation Bar, only horizontal alignments are available.

In the NavBar Button Groups section you select button groups. You can modify settings for selected group.

When the To Other Pages navigation selected, the following Buttons and Button Groups are available:

Home and First level pages style NavBar:
- Home Page button - a button pointing to the Home Page
- First Level buttons - a group of buttons, pointing to all the available first-level pages
Siblings of the same parent style NavBar:
- Sibling buttons - a group of buttons, pointing to all the siblings of the current page
- Parent button - a button pointing to the parent page of the current page
- Self button - a button pointing to the current page itself
All same level pages style NavBar:
- Sibling buttons - a group of buttons, pointing to all the same level pages
- Parent button - a button pointing to the parent page of the current page
- Self button - a button pointing to the current page itself
All Children of current page style NavBar:
- Parent button - a button pointing to the parent page of the current page
- Children buttons - a group of buttons, pointing to all the children of the current page
Sequence to all same level pages style NavBar:
- First button - a button pointing to the first page in a sequence of siblings
- Previous button - a button pointing to the previous page in a sequence of siblings
- Self button - a button pointing to the current page itself
- Next button - a button pointing to the next page in a sequence of siblings
- Last button - a button pointing to the last page in a sequence of siblings
Custom - to any page or frame style NavBar:
- Button - a button pointing to any logical page in the site

When the To Frame-Content Overlays in same page navigation selected, the following Buttons and Button Groups are available:

Siblings of the same parent style NavBar:
- Sibling buttons - a group of buttons, pointing to all the siblings of the current page
- Self button - a button pointing to the current page itself. It is available only for <Current Source> Frame-Content Overlays
Sequence to all same level pages style NavBar:
- First button - a button pointing to the first Frame-Content Overlay in frame
- Previous button - a button pointing to the previous Frame-Content Overlay in frame
- Self button - a button pointing to the current Frame-Content Overlay in frame
- Next button - a button pointing to the next Frame-Content Overlay in frame
- Last button - a button pointing to the last Frame-Content Overlay in frame
Custom - to any page or frame style NavBar:
- Button - a button pointing to any Frame-Content Overlay in the frame

For the To Bookmarks in same Frame-Content Overlay navigation, Siblings of the same parent NavBar Style:

Bookmarks - a group of buttons pointing to all Bookmarks in the current Frame-Content Overlay

If you have selected Custom navigation in the Style - NavBar buttons (links) will point to section of the NavBar Type or Insert NavBar dialog box, you also can add new buttons or delete existing ones by using the Add and Delete buttons to the right of the NavBar Button Groups section, respectively.
You can move buttons up or down in the list by using the appropriate Up and Down buttons.

The check box to the left of button or button group name enables you to show/hide button or group in the Navigation Bar.

If you have selected Text only navigation in the Type of NavBar section, you will see Separator in the NavBar Button Groups section, that means a separator between the NavBar buttons.

The contents of the Button Style section is based on the selection between Text only or Image with labels Navigation Bar in the Type of NavBar section.

When Text only selected, the Button Style section will contain the following controls:

Font Size drop-down list, which enables you to change a size of the link font.
Bold, Italic, Underline check boxes, which enable you to change a style of the link font.
Color button, which enables you to change a color of the link font.

You can apply these properties to text buttons and separators.

When Image with label selected, the Button Style section will contain the following controls:

Font button, which lets you change properties of the label font.
Vertical Alignment combo box, which enables you to change the vertical alignment of the button label. The Vertical Alignment has five possible options:

Above, which places a label above the button image. The number next to the combo box sets the distance from the top of the button image.
Top, which places a label at the top of the button image. The number next to the combo box sets the distance from the top of the button image.
Center, which places a label in the center of the button image.
Bottom, which places a label at the bottom of the button image. The number next to the combo box sets the distance from the bottom of the button image.
Below, which places a label below the button label. The number next to the combo box sets the distance from the bottom of the button image.

Horizontal Alignment control, which enables you to change the horizontal alignment of button label. The Horizontal Alignment has three possible options:

Left, which places a label at the left of the button image. The number next to the combo box sets the distance from the left margin of the button image.
Center, which places a label in the center of button image.
Right, which places a label at the right of the button image. The number next to the combo box sets the distance from the right margin of the button image.

The Image button, which lets you select a button image from button libraries.

The Button Label section, when checked, enables you to change a label text of the selected button.

You cannot change labels for multiple-object selection (i.e. Children buttons, Sibling buttons, etc.) and separators.

To change the label of a single button check the Label check box and type in new label in the box below. Otherwise, the name (or alias, if defined) will be shown on the button. If you have selected Custom navigation in the Style section in the NavBar Type dialog box, you can also change the link of the selected button. You can choose a new link from the Link drop-down list.

The Alignment section enables you to change alignment of the buttons. It is available only for Vertical Navigation Bars. It has three possible options:

Left
Center
Right

The Spacing section enables you to set the spacing between the buttons. It is available only for Image with labels Navigation Bars.
